The children enjoyed some lovely activities for ‘Anti-bullying Week’. We read the story The Bucket Filler and talked about how we could fill our own buckets and other people’s buckets. We talked about the importance of being kind and how it feels when people say and do kind things instead of hurtful things. We had a circle time and said something kind about our friends next to us. When we had said something kind we put a pom-pom in the bucket. By the end of our circle time the bucket was full. This showed us how easy it was to fill a person’s bucket with kindness.
We also made friendship bracelets and gave them to a friend we didn’t always play with, made pictures of people special to us and designed our own buckets with an act of kindness written on them. Well done Year 1.
